This week NASA took a giant leap towards one of lifes greatest mysteries; are we really alone in this universe? As they revealed there are at least 3 earth like planets with climates that might support life within a solar system that consists of 7 planets.

Now I don’t know whether that fills you with joy or makes your tongue sink into your stomach but whatever it does, its big bloody news.

Given that these planets are 249 trillion miles away or 39 light years to be exact we have the evidence that all those alien conspiracy theorists might not of been crazy. Old Mable who told stories of how she got beamed up to a UFO and probed incessantly by those green beady eyed martians might actually be true.

So what does this news mean for us, well a lot of things, one being we can use these super sophisticated telescopes to keep an eye on those cheeky little green things, it also means we can see if there are renewable energy sources which could help our planet and if so we can pilfer from them.

The planets in question are being called ‘TRAPPIST’ and the three earth like ones are simply e, f and g. They are believed to be 7 billion years old and apparently f is the richest in water.

There is more to come from NASA as they seek to deploy more telescopes to study the planets and I’m for one excited to see what comes out of this – however I’m also concerned if we want to make contact we will have Donald Trump, Putin and Kim Jong Un as earths representatives… Dear god save us all.
